A road dominated by cars was not the image Stanton wanted to portray along one of its major streets. An avenue of beautiful plantings of many colors and textures is what welcomes people now as they travel along Beach Boulevard. The entire length of the city is now unified by the consistent design and planting of the landscape medians. Visitors know with distinction that they are in Stanton. The trees provide beautiful screening from oncoming traffic, as well as comforting shade to the asphalt street surface. Dark burgundy foliage stand out among bright greens and yellows, red and purple flowers in bloom create seasonal visual interest; the medians have become like a beautiful oasis amidst dull gray pavement. The city of Stanton now has a main thoroughfare which rightly reflects the image it intended to promote.
